Ringing Report 28 May 2024

A short session from dawn till 10.00. The weather was nice to begin with but it clouded over and rained by the time we left. The water has just gone down after yet another flood across the Island, about the sixth or seventh time this year!

There were good numbers of Reed Warblers singing along the riverside and the reedbed but none by the Backwater. There were also Chiffchaffs, a few Blackcaps and Sedge Warblers.

The female Great Spotted Woodpecker was first caught as a first year bird on 13 December 2018 and has been caught most years since. She has nested most years in the Willow that is fairly rotten by the Holt.
